What is DDCET?

DDCET stands for Diploma to Degree Common Entrance Test. It's the entrance exam that diploma-holders in Gujarat take to get lateral entry into a BE programme. The exam is conducted by Gujarat Technological University, and admission counselling is coordinated by ACPC.

When does DDCET 2026 registration open?

Per the latest ACPC notification, the DDCET 2026 registration window is 9 February 2026 to 30 March 2026. Exam fee is ₹250. Admission counselling registration (after the result) is a separate ₹350 fee. Details: DDCET 2026 Dates & Registration Timeline.

Who is eligible for DDCET?

DDCET is open to diploma-holders who meet AICTE eligibility. Three eligible pathways:

  • Diploma from a recognised Board/University in Gujarat (current or previous year) - last-semester candidates included.
  • Diploma from a recognised Board/University elsewhere in India - competing for the 5% outside-state quota in government institutions.
  • B.Sc + Diploma Vocational from a recognised Board/University in Gujarat, per AICTE provisions.

See the full rules in our eligibility and admission guide.

Is the DDCET Result Checker free?

Yes. Completely free - no paywalls, no ads, no sign-up. Built and maintained by a student.

How is the DDCET score calculated?

DDCET uses a simple marking scheme:

  • +2 for each correct answer (A / B / C / D)
  • −0.5 for each wrong answer or any question with more than one bubble filled
  • 0 for unattempted - leaving the strip blank or bubbling E (see below)

The paper has 100 MCQs split equally: BE01 (Q1–Q50) and BE02 (Q51–Q100). Total is out of 200. Read the full breakdown in our marking scheme guide.

What does option E mean on the OMR sheet?

Each question on the OMR has five bubbles - A, B, C, D and E - but only A–D are real answer options. E is ACPC's "Not Attempted" marker. Bubbling E scores 0 with no penalty, identical to leaving the strip blank. It's there so candidates can explicitly opt out of a question without taking a negative.

A subtle tip: because E isn't a real answer, a blind guess is really 1-in-4 on A–D, which has positive expected value (+0.125 marks). So mathematically, attempting is almost always better than marking E. Use E only if you've run out of time. Full reasoning in our marking scheme guide.

How are ties in DDCET merit broken?

ACPC applies the key of merit in this order:

  1. Higher marks in Section 01 (BE 01)
  2. Higher marks in Section 02 (BE 02)
  3. Lower total negative marks
  4. Lower negative marks in BE 01
  5. Lower negative marks in BE 02
  6. Date of birth - older candidate ranked higher
Where are DDCET exam centres located?

ACPC operates centres across 33 districts of Gujarat - including Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Gandhinagar, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Bharuch, Anand, Navsari, Mahesana and more. Candidates pick three city choices at registration; once submitted they can't be modified. The full list is in our 2026 registration guide.

Why does the uploader reject my screenshot?

The uploader runs integrity checks to confirm your image is the original file from the DDCET portal. Screenshots, cropped images, or re-saved files fail those checks because we can't tell whether the sheet has been edited. Always upload the file you got by right-clicking → Save image as… on the portal.

The site couldn't detect my paper series. What now?

Make sure the top header of the OMR sheet (with the Series A/B/C/D box) is fully visible in the uploaded image. A cropped or rotated sheet is the most common reason series detection fails. If it still won't go through, drop the sheet in our Telegram group and we'll help debug.

What does X in the answer key mean?

X means the question has been dropped by ACPC/GTU - usually because the question was ambiguous or all options were technically correct. Everyone gets +2 for those questions, whether they attempted them or not.

My seat number didn't read correctly.

The tool first tries to decode the barcode on the sheet, then falls back to bubble detection, and cross-checks the two. If they disagree, we stop and flag it so a wrong seat number never gets recorded against your name. Re-upload a clean copy of the original file, or ask on Telegram.

Is this the official DDCET result?

No. This is an independent tool. The official DDCET result is published by ACPC on acpc.gujarat.gov.in. We use the official answer key so the score should match - but the leaderboard and rank here are estimates, not official merit positions.

What if ACPC updates the answer key after I've uploaded?

Your stored result is re-scored automatically the next time we load the updated key. Your BE01 / BE02 / total numbers on the leaderboard update on their own. Your result card will show a "re-graded on …" note so you know it reflects the latest key.

Can I remove my result from the leaderboard?

Individual removals aren't supported. The leaderboard needs the full dataset to give everyone a useful rank estimate. If you'd rather not have your seat number listed, please simply don't upload the sheet.

Why is my rank only "approximate"?

The leaderboard ranks only candidates who've used this tool - not the full DDCET cohort. If about half the cohort uploads their sheet, your rank here will be close to your actual merit rank. It's a useful ballpark, not an official rank.

How do I contact ACPC for official queries?

For anything official - admission queries, eligibility clarifications, answer-key objections - contact ACPC directly. Independent tools like this one cannot help with official matters.
